TBRC team recently published a research paper in scientific reports titled “Uncovering multi-faceted taxonomic and functional diversity of soil bacteriomes in tropical Southeast Asian countries” (https://rdcu.be/cdq6t)
This article presents the combination of data integration and bioinformatics approaches to uncover the influence of geographic locality and soil characteristics (soil classes and pH levels) in the taxonomic and functional composition of soil bacterial communities in ASEAN. With their geographical and climate uniqueness, the integrated data of soil microbiomes studies from 4 southeast Asia countries: Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia available in ASEAN Microbial Database: AmiBase (https://www.amibase.org) were selected and used as models in this study. Through a series of analysis, the paper pointed out the variation of functional diversity in the soil bacteriomes of different countries and different bacterial association networks.
